In October of 2006, 80 children from the community of Phaeton were added to the Sponsorship Program of His Hands for Haiti.
The Baptist church in Phaeton, which was started many years ago by Pastor Noël, has about 200 members.
Pastor Karry Lafosse is the Pastor in Phaeton. Phaeton is a small community on the Northeast coast of Haiti, just a couple of kilometers north of the village of Paulette.
There was a sisal factory in Phaeton which employed many people but it closed many years ago taking away the main employment opportunity in this area.
The church has a school as one of their ministries. This school has approximately 100 students in class levels 1 through 6. The school has 6 teachers for the children and they also feed the children when they have food donated by the World Food Program.

This small school may have some facility problems (the roof needs replacing, the latrine needs repair) but the children are eager to learn. Here we see Beverly Hale of HH4H holding an impromptu teaching session with some of the Phaeton students.
